BRIEF New building of an exhibition center with a foyer, multifunctional hall, conference area, and adjacent areas as an autonomous building block in the existing fairgrounds | ADDED VALUE The interior space of the convention hall is conceived of as if it were a stage space. All of the necessary infrastructure remains unseen so that the discrete black design of this noble-appearing convention hall best directs the attention of the visitor towards the range of products exhibited.
EXHIBTION CENTER, SALZBURG | AUSTRIA The heterogeneous appearance of the entire exhibition center area calls for a supremely memorable design element. The design organizes the rather proportionately large volume on two levels and opens up a dialogue between inside and outside: while on the ground-floor the set-back foyer instinctively invites boulevard passersby inside, the overhanging conference area offers up a panoramic view overlooking the exhibition center grounds and the busy activities outdoors on the upper level through the gigantic story-high window front to the center’s boulevard. From the foyer, three lavish entrances lead into the multifunctional hall, while two of the grand staircases of the conference center on the upper level leads to the coat check and facilities on the ground-floor. The extremely compact hall-building-volume with minimal cubage guarantees not only an elegant appearance but also provides for low maintenance costs. Additionally the project can be realized in record time.
