kadawittfeldarchitektur celebrated its 20th anniversary on 19 September 2019 at the Ludwig Forum for International Art in Aachen.
Founded by Klaus Kada and Gerhard Wittfeld in Aachen in 1999, the office has realised a wide variety of designs during its 20-year existence – buildings for working, living, culture, museums and exhibition halls, very small buildings and complex reconstruction of Salzburg’s main railway station. The interdisciplinary approach – the combination of architecture, interior design and urban planning – reflects the spectrum of the architects’ creative work. This year the team is working on 27 ongoing projects, nine more are under construction.
As part of the anniversary celebration kadawittfeldarchitektur presented a retrospective and outlook in form of a small exhibition at @ludwigforum. Interdisciplinary short lectures by Angelika Fitz (Director of @architekturzentrum_wien), Michel Weijers (Managing Director of #c2cexpolab), Prof. Riklef Rambow (Head of a*komm at KIT) and Prof. Andreas Uebele (@buerouebele) completed the programme. The President of #bundesarchitektenkammer, Barbara Ettinger-Brinkmann, delivered the laudation. Aachen artist @timberresheim presented a piece of art made exclusively for kadawittfeldarchitektur.
We would like to thank all the guests and contributors who made this evening a wonderful one!
