Saint-Gobain Headquarters Aachen

Info
BRIEF New build for the central European headquarters of Saint-Gobain | ADDED VALUE The fully glazed facade not only gives the glass manufacturer a distinct image but also fulfils the requirements in terms of natural ventilation, noise control and sustainability.

SAINT GOBAIN HEADQUARTERS, AACHEN | GERMANY The four-storey office building on the site of the old Tivoli stadium on Krefelder Straße is characterised by its open and transparent appearance, thus creating a relation to the field of glass. The building is accessed on the ground floor via a spacious entrance hall with fully glazed interior courtyards. This area accommodates the cafeteria as well as several meeting and conference rooms. The light, communicative space of the upper office storeys, which can be divided into cells or used as an open plan office or a combination of the two, looks out onto the lush parkland of Aachener Soers and Lousberg. A double facade system with large-format glass elements allows for natural ventilation in the offices at the same time as providing protection from the traffic noise on Krefelder Straße and giving the headquarters a very characteristic appearance.
